I am a weekly customer here, probably one of their few loyal customers. Their food really is good. But lately the service has been terrible. 2 of the last 3 times I have gotten servings of rice that were crunchy and inedible. Tonight I walked in the door at 10:40 PM and began to order. I could see there was limited rice left, so I watched the guy scoop up all the leftover grains around the side of the pan. Literally every grain was crunchy. Once again, inedible. I was in no hurry, so I asked how long a fresh batch of rice would take to come out. I was taken back when the guy said they weren’t going to make anymore rice. To me, that is an unacceptable way to run a business. The store closes at 1 am. They literally had 2 hours and 15 minutes left of business to conduct, but were not going to make anymore rice for paying customers. That is unacceptable and leaves a bad taste in a loyal customers mouth.
This place is really good. And one of the employees gave us a free soda because we had to wait for the chicken to be cooked. It was worth the wait! And their sauces are so flavorful. The hot one is actually really hot, so be careful! It's very good though.
The staff member was friendly and was quick to answer questions as I went through the line. I got the gyro sandwich. The meat was decent but only beef, prefer lamb or lamb and beef combo on my gyro, and could use some more seasoning. The sauces were tasty and the hot sauce was legit hot, which was nice. Unfortunately the pita bread was a bit rubbery and chewy.
If you are from up north, eliminate everything you know about gyro or Halal Guys before entering. The food isn't terrible but it taste more commercial than anything like their rendition of gyro. Honestly liked the chicken better than the traditional lamp but again not terrible. The rice was a bit dry however. The white sauce is not your traditional cucumber sauce like served up normal. It is there own recipe. Taste simalar just has a little kick. Customer service was superb.
Went in to try it out, customer service and cleanliness was good, but the food was awful. Not a traditional lamb gyro I was expecting, it was crumbled meat which tasted like beef. If I had been blindfolded, the combination of that and the orange rice could have passed as a taco, couldn't finish the meal, go in within low expectations of real Greek and Lebanese food
The white sauce is amazing! However, there are not many options to choose from, and the food is slightly overpriced. Do not expect authentic gyro, it is made from beef instead of lamb. Service is great, and the staff is very friendly.
Big Fan of this operation. Visited the Carts and restaurants in New York City back in 2016 and Super Excited to see them come to Louisiana. Food is great and staff is friendly. Should mention that the Gyro is beef (as it is at the restaurants in New York) and by the way Gyro "is not" specific to Lamb as the term only describes the way in which the meat (any meat) is roasted on a "spit". Give them a try and definitely pour on the White sauce on top of your order!!!!!
Bang bang gang gang get your Halal on with these guys. Make sure you order it spicy if you're into that sort of thing. This place is great and open late on the weekends. This is absolutely one of my favorites. Enjoy the delicious meal and grab a fork things can get messy but you won't want to miss a morsel.
